Hi! I’m Erin, a self-taught physical and digital artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the creator behind Feathers & Oak Studio.
I specialize in hand-painted pet portraits and woodland-inspired fine art, most often created with acrylic paint on live-edge wood slices and reclaimed pallet boards. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted to highlight natural textures and details from soft fur and feathers to subtle expressions and personality.
All of my pallet boards are handmade by me in my home shop, mostly using recycled wood to give every artwork a unique, rustic foundation and a story of renewal. I love the idea of giving forgotten wood new life by turning it into meaningful, heirloom-quality artwork that honors beloved pets and special moments in nature.
I began painting about six years ago as a form of healing and self-expression after leaving a difficult and abusive relationship. What started as a personal outlet has grown into a full-time creative business, one that now supports my family, including my daughter and our sweet fur baby pit bull, Lola Banana.
Birds have been a lifelong inspiration for me, and you’ll often find chickadees, owls, and other woodland creatures woven throughout my work. My art is deeply influenced by nature, quiet moments outdoors, and a love for storytelling through handmade craftsmanship.
When I’m not painting, I enjoy visiting farmers’ markets and small businesses, birdwatching, exploring new outdoor spaces, and spending cozy days at home with my family. I’m also always on the hunt for a great new restaurant — especially if it serves sushi or Japanese cuisine!
Running my small business allows me to stay close to home while continuing my education in business marketing. I’m incredibly dedicated to growing as both an artist and an entrepreneur, and I’m excited to see where this creative journey leads.
If you’re interested in a custom piece or have any questions, I’d love to hear from you. I also host fundraisers throughout the year to support meaningful causes, and I’m always open to suggestions.
Thank you so much for supporting handmade art and my small studio. Your support truly means the world to me.
